Here I am again, sheltering from the cold at the Airwaves press centre. Last night we met up with old friends in Reykjavik, dodging about between Kaffibarinn, Vegamot and other cosy little bars, consuming plenty of Viking ale. I must admit to having slept in all morning yesterday, followed by a very lazy day indeed…
Sadly, my colleague Mr. Tebbutt didn’t make it to Iceland, owing to a leg injury picked up at Nottingham’s Bomb club the previous evening. So, I should say a quick “get well soon” to the poor little chap.
Today, I’ve been showing Simon and Emily some of my favourite bits of Reykjavik - mostly shops and galleries. It’s very sunny, but absolutely pissing freezing, so our whale-watching excursion was sadly cancelled. Oh well, at least I’m spared the indignity of being sick off the side of a boat. I never did have any sea-legs.
Tonight should be a bit special. Top Icelandic export Gus Gus are headlining at NASA later on, and my old pals Quarashi are on the same bill. Top sound-a-bit-English band Leaves are also gonna be playing. In fact, there’s just too much good music across all the venues tonight - I envisage lots of running around and queue-jumping ahead.
Tomorrow we fly back to drab old England, and the delights of Heathrow airport. We fly at 7.45am, so I suppose I should try and remain reasonably sober tonight. What are the chances?

Incidentally, you may be pleased to know that Icelandair have not only found my belongings, but they have also delivered them to my house. Thank you for the good service Icelandair people.
