Busy as the proverbial bee. Aside form verbal fisticuffs with the Inland Revenue, appalling drunken behaviour in dressing rooms, and too much time on trains, I have actually been hard at it of late. If you are interested in either Mac Expo, split or splitting pop bands, eating South African wildlife or WW1 regenerative face surgery, then do read on. Otherwise, you’ll find the following quite self-indulgent…
I made it to Mac Expo in London t’other day. Great to preview lots of impressive Tiger bits, including Safari RSS, Spotlight and Dashboard. Also had a play with the new G5 - a new one of which I’m hopefully being sent this week. That big white frontage is quite odd, and will take some getting used to, but bloody hell - how fast?! I tossed around with Photoshop for a few minutes and couldn’t believe how responsive it was.
Sadly, I didn’t stay too long at the Expo, as it was full of sweaty geeks, and by 5pm the smell was a bit potent. So, I buggered off to eat Kudu and Ostrich at Crouch End’s Boom Bar with Emma. The following day, rather than go to the new Apple Store as intended (I’ll go next week), we popped off to Brick Lane to window shop, and eat weird food at the Hookah Lounge. I can unreservedly recommend both eateries mentioned above if you like eating animals that were once cute and free, but are even better as memories of rich meat and decadence.
News of our new version of The Libertines site will follow as soon as we’ve completed the changes. Have a look now if you want to see the work in progress. I’m also pleased to announce that we will be working with former Beta Band frontman Steve Mason to promote his King Biscuit Time solo material.
Finally, it was great to meet me old mate Paddy in his flash studio overlooking Westminster, to begin the web work on his Project Facade, er…project. It’s a three year investigation into the Gillies Archive, which details the incredible work done in the First World War to help exploded servicemen repair their faces with prosthetics and innovative regenerative technology. Six hours of note-making later, and I think I understand the project. Should keep me busy for a while.
Incidentally, Paddy’s girlfriend was apparently queuing outside the new Apple Store at 1pm on the Friday - 21 hours before the doors opened. That’s about as keen as it gets. Hope the goodie bag was worth it. And what was Paddy planning to do with his Friday evening? A night on the Playstation. Good lad.

Thanks John. Check out this article which goes into more detail about version 2. Time to give some time to all the other projects now…
