@media 2006: The second coming

5th January 2006

Yes, @media is back for 2006. Doubtless it’ll sell out quickly, so get over there and register so that I can impress you all with my delightful social aspect once again.

@media2006

I won’t be at SXSW due to workload (nevermind), so it’ll be a rare outing. Let me know if you’ve got yourself registered, and what you’re looking forward to…

Colly,

I probally won’t go due to SXSW/Carson/etc. I’ve attended enough.

Its a shame your not going to SXSW.

I’d really like to go to this, never been before and the sessions sound really interesting… but my poor student budget won’t stretch to 345 :(

Yeah, the student finances rule me out of @media this year too. I’m not whinging though, it’s a professional conference an all so I can understand being priced out.

Carson Summit and d.Construct type events fall nicely within grasp though. Hurrah for them.

For those who can afford (or have one of those job things that might pay for you): Last year was a blast.

I’ll be going, almost certainly. If I can’t get work to pay, I’ll probably pay for myself and take the time as holiday. Just a shame Ben can’t be there (even if he did steal my chance last year!)

So that’s d.Construct, Carson Summit, SXSWi, and @media in one twelve month period. Overkill, anyone? :-D

My student budget wont reach 345 either, but I’m impressed by the list of speakers and the topics, the CSS3 and Microformat talks sound very cool indeed.

Overkill. It’s possible to go to too many of these conferences? Since when? ;-)

Looking forward again to the whole experience. The level of talks across the board look pretty strong - and in particular sticking with the web standards design/accessibility side of thinks rather than branching out into web 2.0 (sorry) teritory.

Working on getting support from the work place. They’re already forking over the bill for SxSW - so I might have to dig deep into the pockets to make it out to London. I’ve been dying to see my twin in person ;)

You were on my list of people to meet at @media 2005, but I failed. I’ll have to try again this year.

Dustin: Oh blimey! I’d better grow a beard or something…

Mike: You too. I’ll make a beeline for you this year.

# Mohodin Rageh responded on 9th January 2006 with...

This is going to be THE summer event to be in this year. Colly, I hope you and the other speakers may make your talk available online for those not able to attend. Or will there be copyright issue in the way?

# Elsa responded on 10th January 2006 with...

Thanks to your early heads up it looks like work are going to let me go. Excellent. It looks fantastic.

# Thomas Marban responded on 12th January 2006 with...

See you there Colly, i’ll bring along some screenshots ;)

# Mike Stenhouse responded on 14th January 2006 with...

I can’t make SXSW either but I’m coming out to play at @media this year too. It should be good!

# Simon Clayson responded on 20th January 2006 with...

If you’re names not down, you’re not coming in. Mine’s down. So the Nottingham delegation numbers have been bumped!

# Paul Boag responded on 27th January 2006 with...

I had to rearrange a family holiday and piss of my inlaws but i’ll be there!
