Win my own Pete Fowler toy!

16th October 2006

Colly here, interrupting the guest author’s flow with a quick competition. I have a wonderful 8” vinyl Pete Fowler Tribes of Monsterism figure to give away, seeing as somebody just sent me the full set! Specifically, his name is Maphi, and I have owned him for a year. He appeared in one of the Kia (car) animated ads on the telly. In case you don’t know, Fowler is the chap who has designed most of The Super Furry Animals album covers over the years. It is a must-have useless ornament!

How to adopt Maphi

OK, if you want to win Maphi, just leave a comment explaining where abouts you would put him, and why. I’ll pick what I believe to be the funniest at midnight GMT on 18th October, and it’s author will receive Maphi (in his original box).

Update: Comments closed. We have a winner!

I’d carefully set him behind my goldfish’s tank, so that he’d show up on all the Daily Chegwin posts as Chegwin’s antler-headed wacky best mate.

I’d put him by my puppy’s food bowl to ward off our older dog who keeps eating his food. When not guarding puppy food he’d also be used on various other guarding duties such as to ward off evil flies that also scare my puppy. Yes, my puppy is a big girly boy and I think he’s also afraid of his shadow and possibly everyone elses - he needs a guardian.

I’ll stick it right next to my iSight on top of my Cinema Display. Looks like something that would look just right.

I’d give him the Spurs no. 9 shirt and hope that he scares one of the multi million £‘s worth of forward ‘talent’ into scoring a goal!

I¥d place him on my mountainbike so he would get to know Stockholm inside out.

I’d stick him on my desk at work to keep Santa Jack and the Mayor from Nightmare before Christmas company.

They’ve been getting bored since they scared off the Corpse Bride so they need some fresh meat.

It’d have to be on a buffet table at my (forthcoming) wedding reception. It’d go in the canapÈs section, pride of place in the middle of the table, with a mixture of small cubes of cheese, miniture hotdog sauages and small pickled onions on his antlers.

I’d put him on top of the ‘CSS Mastery’ book Colly sent me as a prize for having one of the Simplified Standards logo runner-ups.

Oh wait… Colly never sent me it. :(

# Mei responded on 17th October 2006 with...

I’d give him to my mate Ian, who’s got both th monsterism Hide and Seek team and the Folk out t-shirts.

# Jack Santini responded on 18th October 2006 with...

I’d put him on eBay
