Yet more logo submissions

23rd June 2005

After I previewed the first 23 submissions yesterday, a further 19 landed in my inbox today. Again, it’s a mixed bag, and I’m really starting to warm to some of them now. You’ve until the 25th if you wish to submit a logo, but do scan the rules and background first. As always, your feedback is welcomed…

I like #34.

Having said that, a couple of people have gone for the heart thing.

#41 - Implified Tandards?!!

# Steve P. Sharpe responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

Better than a badger a I guess! lol, or is it?

# Jeremy Flint responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

#27 - looks similar to the Red Hat logo. Maybe just the implied shapes.

#35 - The dreaded swoosh rears its ugly head.

# david currey responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

No Steven, the badger is dope!

# Andy Beeching responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

#25 looks pretty funky!

# Tim Uruski responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

I like the looks of #26 and #33, personally.

# Jonathan Snook responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

#34 reminds me a little of the love connection. I think you might have a tough time deciding. If not, I’m sure you’ll just pick mine. ;)

# James Bennett responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

#26 and #33 are probably the most appropriate to the subject matter. #39 isn’t bad. #24 is a bit too harsh, and #44 honestly makes me think of too many health-care logos (I used to work in the field, so I saw a fair number of them).

are 36-42 submitted by the same person or are those colours just a coincidence?

# quis responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

Looks like 36-42 have been spending a long time studying Design Cliches over at SpeakUp…

# Dan responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

I like #25

Looks simple and very smart.

# Stuart responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

#36 “For simple filing of standards!”

# Martin Smith responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

Wow!  Round Two is certainly a step up!  #25 is best of this bunch for me but Im not keen on the font?

# Rob Waring responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

24 and 30 for me.

# Simon Clayson responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

The lack of a badger is bringing on a sense of loss in me.

# Faruk Ateş responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

In no particular order, I like these:

- 30, but with slightly different colors
- 33 (*gasp* *shock*)
- 38 (though I do think the font could benefit from a bit more strength)

# Simon Snorkeller responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

What do we want? A badger! When do we want it? Now!

# Hayo Bethlehem responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

Badgers!

# Rob Waring responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

Should have guessed that would turn up eventually. “Badger, Badger, Badger, Badger”.

Can I add 27 to my list but with a different colour.

# Tris responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

27 for me would look cool on a site and on print, maybe a fair point about the colour choice never been over the top about green.

31 is mad and is it just me or does anyone see a ladies part when looking at 42?

# Olly responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

I love 27 and 39 is quite nice.

# Keith responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

24 and 26 are my favorites. Simple and fun.

# Peter G. responded on 23rd June 2005 with...

#24 and especially #27 get my vote. #34 is very nice too, but it doesn’t look like it has much to do with web standards. Looks too much like something for a dating service. #27 is really nice.

# Waylon responded on 24th June 2005 with...

Personally, I like #‘s 1, 33-34 the best.

# Tom responded on 24th June 2005 with...

24 and 25 are sick, I still stick with my previous choice. Allthough 34 is nice.

# Jeff Wheeler responded on 24th June 2005 with...

#24 and #25 are quite exceptional. I’m very impressed!

# Steve Keyworth responded on 24th June 2005 with...

I believe you will find nothing more appropriate than 41.
Truly Stunning.

# Matthew Pennell responded on 25th June 2005 with...

Steve: Don’t you mean Ruly Tunning? ;)

# paul haine responded on 25th June 2005 with...

I like #27. That’s all I have to say. As you were.

# Andy B responded on 30th June 2005 with...

I like 27 clean and functional - does what it says on the tin!
