23rd June 2005
After I previewed the first 23 submissions yesterday, a further 19 landed in my inbox today. Again, it’s a mixed bag, and I’m really starting to warm to some of them now. You’ve until the 25th if you wish to submit a logo, but do scan the rules and background first. As always, your feedback is welcomed…

I like #34.
Having said that, a couple of people have gone for the heart thing.

Better than a badger a I guess! lol, or is it?

#27 - looks similar to the Red Hat logo. Maybe just the implied shapes.
#35 - The dreaded swoosh rears its ugly head.

#34 reminds me a little of the love connection. I think you might have a tough time deciding. If not, I’m sure you’ll just pick mine. ;)

#26 and #33 are probably the most appropriate to the subject matter. #39 isn’t bad. #24 is a bit too harsh, and #44 honestly makes me think of too many health-care logos (I used to work in the field, so I saw a fair number of them).

are 36-42 submitted by the same person or are those colours just a coincidence?

Looks like 36-42 have been spending a long time studying Design Cliches over at SpeakUp…

Wow! Round Two is certainly a step up! #25 is best of this bunch for me but Im not keen on the font?

The lack of a badger is bringing on a sense of loss in me.

In no particular order, I like these:
- 30, but with slightly different colors
- 33 (*gasp* *shock*)
- 38 (though I do think the font could benefit from a bit more strength)

What do we want? A badger! When do we want it? Now!
# Rob Waring responded on 23rd June 2005 with...
Should have guessed that would turn up eventually. “Badger, Badger, Badger, Badger”.
Can I add 27 to my list but with a different colour.
# Tris responded on 23rd June 2005 with...
27 for me would look cool on a site and on print, maybe a fair point about the colour choice never been over the top about green.
31 is mad and is it just me or does anyone see a ladies part when looking at 42?
# Peter G. responded on 23rd June 2005 with...
#24 and especially #27 get my vote. #34 is very nice too, but it doesn’t look like it has much to do with web standards. Looks too much like something for a dating service. #27 is really nice.
# Tom responded on 24th June 2005 with...
24 and 25 are sick, I still stick with my previous choice. Allthough 34 is nice.
# Jeff Wheeler responded on 24th June 2005 with...
#24 and #25 are quite exceptional. I’m very impressed!
# Steve Keyworth responded on 24th June 2005 with...
I believe you will find nothing more appropriate than 41.
Truly Stunning.

I like 27 clean and functional - does what it says on the tin!
