Busy couple of weeks? Well, yeah. Not sure where to start really. There’s been controversy, hedonism, speculation, derision, joy, fatigue - the usual. I’ll share a little of this with you. Let’s start with our efforts to encourage suicide amongst emotionally fragile people.
Forgive the Northeast colloquialisms, but it was a most interesting weekend. Spent two days with some Geordies (people from Newcastle), Maccams (people from Sunderland) and - erm, people from Cambridge (don’t know what they’re called) in the grounds of Downing College. Considering the bitterly fierce rivalry between the Maccams and Geordies, everyone got on incredibly well.
It’s my birthday. I’m thirty-one years old today. It’s a lovely age to be. Typically, I have been celebrating since last Saturday. This is a purely unselfish method of ensuring I get to see all of my friends over the week.
Here’s the first of my Top 100s. Every time I’ve had a few minutes to kill, I’ve been adding to and arranging my list of top 100 albums to date. I realise this is incredibly anal, but I do like a bit of order in my life - and I’m a sucker for lists.
How time flies when you’re having fun. So much fun. More fun than I’ve had for some time - in a big block anyway. One big, bad block of fun. I barely touched the laptop, and went nowhere near the office. Instead I split my time between London, the South coast and good old Nottingham. Low cost, cheap thrills and very little effort.
Woo-hoo! Shut the Powerbook, roll out the “Out of office” auto-reply, dig out the bucket and spade. I’m having a well-earned rest for the next two weeks, so you can expect nothing new from me until the 23rd August. Yep, even the blog is getting rested. Well, maybe I’ll post the odd thing here and there…
I’ve added six new Photo Sets to the site, including a gallery of my artwork, showing paintings, drawings, installations and sculpture from 1996 to 2002. I originally trained as an artist, and after graduating with a Fine Art degree in 1996 I had a number of well-received exhibitions in the UK and Iceland.
Posted via CollyPhone: Images from the University-gang reunion in glamorous Southend-on-Sea recently. Probably a bit ropey seeing as I’m sending them from my mobile, but it’s not the future yet.
Finally, the dust covers are off - welcome to CollyLogic! Expect half-cocked rants and observations about art, music, web design, travel, good people, bad people and ugly people - delivered on an almost daily basis.
