2014 was the year of the Horse
2014 (MMXIII) was a common year starting on Wednesday (link will display the full calendar) of the Gregorian calendar, the 2014th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 14th year of the 3rd millennium, the 14th year of the 21st century, and the 5th year of the 2010s decade.
It was yet another cracking year for new music, and I consumed as much as possible, making my annual roundup as difficult as ever.

I joined my colleagues in Portland, Oregon, for our latest retreat. On the first day — eager to get away from the hum of thirteen laptops — we piled into two vans and headed East to Multnomah Falls, then West for Cannon Beach.
