Olafur Eliasson: In Real Life

Having admired Eliasson's work for twenty years, I'd expected to love everything about this significant Tate survey. Instead, I began to wonder if I'd over-invested in his ideas.

Early connections to nature

As I began researching the ways digital tech helps us discover our world, I considered nature’s influence on my formative years and wondered what I might’ve lost.

2012 in review

Having summarised my year as both 2010 and 2011 drew to a close, I'm learning to enjoy writing these reviews now.

2011 in review

The year 2010 was an important and epic one for me, so as it ended I wrote about it in some detail. In doing so, I set myself the goal of documenting each year I survive, and as 2011 was equally epic in some regards, I really want a record of it for the future me.

10th Icelandic Web Awards

I'm looking for more information about a painting I fell in love with nine years ago in the foyer of the Hafnarborg, in the glorious Icelandic town of Hafnarfjörður.

My brief guide to Iceland

A few of you know that I lived in Iceland for a total of around a year, and I get lots of emails asking about things to see and do in Reykjavík. To save me the trouble of writing back every time, I decided to post up my must-see list here.

Sigur Rós recycled

I'm knee-deep in a laborious project and Sigur Rós are keeping me sane. Recently I rediscovered a rare album of recycled tracks that offers a very different side to their sound.

Digitising old sketchbooks

I'm scanning and uploading my sketchbooks. I'm always paranoid about losing everything in a fire, but it also feels liberating to share eight years of pre-blog private thoughts and ideas.

Leaves at Nottingham Social

Leaves, one of my favourite Icelandic bands, finally came to Nottingham to play an intimate gig to a handful of enraptured people.
